Engineer, you will contribute to building scalable, reliable
backend systems for our cutting-edge applications. This role
requires strong expertise in Rust programming and backend
development, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively
across teams. You'll focus on delivering high-quality solutions
while optimizing system performance and scalability.This position
requires all hires to be onsite Monday - Thursday out of our Los
Angeles (Playa Vista) or San Francisco, CA office, with the option
to WFH on Friday.What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems with a focus on
scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product
managers, frontend developers, and data scientists, to deliver
seamless end-to-end solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to
best practices in backend engineering.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality
deliverables.
- Monitor and optimize backend performance, ensuring systems run
efficiently in production environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the
backend stack.
- Contribute to team discussions on architecture and technical
approaches.What It Takes To Be Successful
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in
Rust programming.
- Strong knowledge of databases, including Postgres and Redis,
with experience in designing and optimizing scalable database
solutions.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like
Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS/GCP), focusing
on efficient resource utilization.
- Experience with low level profilers and optimizers.
- Solid understanding of Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines,
including tools like CircleCI.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a
related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to
changing priorities.Nice To Have
- Experience with backend engineering using Elixir, including
Phoenix, LiveView, and Oban.
- Familiarity with Rust libraries such as Tokio/Axum and
RocksDB.
- Prior experience optimizing backend systems for high traffic or
gaming platforms.
- Passion for gaming or familiarity with gaming genres like MOBAs
