This role requires strong expertise in Rust programming and backend development, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. You'll focus on delivering high-quality solutions while optimizing system performance and scalability.This position requires all hires to be onsite Monday - Thursday out of our Los Angeles (Playa Vista) or San Francisco, CA office, with the option to WFH on Friday.What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and data scientists, to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices in backend engineering.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Monitor and optimize backend performance, ensuring systems run efficiently in production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the backend stack.
• Contribute to team discussions on architecture and technical approaches.What It Takes To Be Successful
  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Rust programming.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, including Postgres and Redis, with experience in designing and optimizing scalable database solutions.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS/GCP), focusing on efficient resource utilization.
  • Experience with low level profilers and optimizers.
  • Solid understanding of Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines, including tools like CircleCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.Nice To Have
    • Experience with backend engineering using Elixir, including Phoenix, LiveView, and Oban.
    • Familiarity with Rust libraries such as Tokio/Axum and RocksDB.
    • Prior experience optimizing backend systems for high traffic or gaming platforms.
    • Passion for gaming or familiarity with gaming genres like MOBAs or shooters.What We Offer
