Purchasing Specialist paying up to $50K

Job Description:
A established distribution company is currently looking to find
their next Purchasing Specialist!!
Duties include:
-Handle purchasing of our Retail vendors.
-Write Orders for 20-30 vendors.
-Plan and analyze product inventory levels based on current sales
daily.
-Managing 3000-4000 skus at a time.
-Initiate communication with manufacturers on late PO's and
products that are out of stock.
-Be proactive in finding ways to turn inventory faster while
preventing customer back orders.
-Speak in planning meetings voicing inventory concerns and opinions
based on past selling.
-Work with the sales and marketing team to sell old inventory and
product that is expiring soon.
-Recap customer back orders on a bimonthly basis.
-Email Sales and Customer Service on out of stock issues, product
recalls, new item launches, etc.
-Approve large customer orders submitted by Customer Service.
Verify when we will have enough inventory to fill the sales order.
Add on or place new purchase orders to cover the product that is
needed.
-Schedule vendor transportation and transfers between two
warehouses taking into account total trucks by day and warehouse
receiving hours. Maintain the PO dates on the ship log and in our
ERP system.
-Process vendor returns on a monthly basis.
-Provide the vendor with return reports.
-Work with customer service to ensure we have accurate reasons why
the product was returned.
-Work with the warehouse on inventory discrepancies, cycle counts
and PO receiving issues.
-Proof PO paperwork against what we received and what we
ordered.
-Complete damage and shortage vendor forms when necessary. Email to
the manufacturer and work with accounting to resolve any related
issues.
-Maintain updated step-by-step instructions for all job
responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skills:
-3 years product planning or product buying experience
required.
-Reporting and analysis experience recommended.
-Strong excel and computer experience. ERP experience
recommended.
-Excellent oral and written, business English skills.
-Highly analytical, detail oriented and proactive at
troubleshooting issues.
