CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Position: Production Supervisor IILocation: Los
Angeles, CATarget Base Salary Range: $68,640k - $86k (DOE)The
Production Supervisor leads 2nd shift and directs the day to day
operations of flammable and nonflammable gases in a production
setting. This position is responsible for building and maintaining
the facilities safety culture and performance, delivering and
maintaining compliance within the facility, maintaining correct
staffing levels based on production demands, and managing inventory
control within the facility by performing the following:
- Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety
and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Creates a safe work environment by contributing to zero
preventable accidents, and by continuous compliance with company
safety rules, standard operating procedures and governmental
regulations required for the position.
- Coordinates monthly safety meetings for production
associates.
- Supervises the activities of plant production supervisors for
2nd shift.
- Use PEM to plan production schedules.
- Responsible for managing associates' work schedules to meet
filler efficiencies.
- Updates system to input production hours and fill rates to
maintain filler efficiency tool.
- Implements and suggests improvement measures for production and
equipment performance.
- Works with additional plants and branches to ensure proper
order delivery and status updates are met.
- Coordinates with management on the plant's inventory levels,
supplies and equipment.
- Works with shipping associates to verify load assignments.
Verifies that all trip sheets are accurate and followed.
- Provides leadership direction to all levels of associates in
the plan including; positive motivation and performance
evaluations, coaching, providing regular feedback through
one-on-one meetings, communication of goals, leading regular team
meetings and calls.
- Provides coaching and corrective action promptly, to ensure
that poor performers are identified, documented and improved to
acceptable performance, or released.
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless follow
through customer service requirements and expectations.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager to determine best practices
for a production environment.
- Committed and follows Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all
related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this
position's responsibilities.
- All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work
request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically
described.
- Fill cylinder and liquids on an as needed basis.
- Load trucks and material handled on an as needed basis to cover
staff shortages or increases in demand.Are you a MATCH?
- Experience leading teams required for a minimum of 4
years.
- At least four years' experience in production of industrial
gases, flammable, nonflammable, medical mixes, pure products and
liquids.
- Operations Planning, Material Planning, and Production
Scheduling experience.
- Ability to operate forklift and maintain appropriate forklift
certifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with
different personalities and backgrounds.
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
- Familiar with CGA, FDA, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies
associated with the compressed gas industry.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Google platforms).
- Knowledge of compliance related to Department of Transportation
(DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA),
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECORE, or other business
related compliance activities.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to
leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency
