  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine projects.
  • Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your staff.
  • Independently coordinate the work of engineers and balance the planning team throughout the entire project's development.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Track the financial aspects of projects and coordinate or adjust work efforts with the team to ensure that work is completed within the agreed-to-schedule parameters.
  • Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice.
  • Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure the completion of documents on schedule.
  • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable-stayed), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
  • Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
  • Mentor younger staff and support continued development.
  • Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • 10 years of Caltrans Bridge Design Experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams.
  • Prestress Concrete Design.
  • Strong organizational, listening, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software.Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7 years related experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be a plus).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
